Benefits of Meditation
People who meditate regularly often find that they become healthier and more balanced, with an improved outlook to life. Regular meditation and the mental peace that it gives us, can deepen our understanding of our
physical, psychological and spiritual being. By experiencing first hand the connection to others, we become more compassionate and accommodating towards others.
Sahaja Meditation is Free.
There is no charge for Sahaja Meditation. It is a non-profit organization that teaches this ageless technique in over
80 countries around the world, always free of charge since it was started in 1970 by Shri Mataji.
Our Aim.
Our aim is to enable as many persons as possible to have the opportunity to try the technique. It is then up to the
individual to decide whether to practice it more regularly
in order to experience the benefits.
Freedom of choice is an essential component of the practice of Sahaja Meditation.
Self-Mastery
Sahaja Meditation emphasizes the need for each of us to become our own master or teacher. It provides each of us with the tools to determine our own progress and to adjust our practices accordingly, in turn, guiding our own development. Teachers in the classes pass on the techniques to others, but we ourselves become our own
interpreter of our own internal guidance.
The contribution to improving our Culture.
Sahaja Meditation does not encourage any extreme behavior. In fact, it aims to promote the growth of normal, balanced, productive and integrated members of society.
A personal experiment.
Sahaja Meditation encourages users to verify the teachings for themselves with their own experience. There is no place for blind faith or dogma. A more productive approach, is to treat it as a personal experiment, by making an earnest attempt at meditation
for, say, two or three weeks, and then determining whether it gives any benefit.
Who is Shri Mataji ?
Shri Mataji Nirmal Devi founded Sahaja Yoga Meditation in 1970.
What is the difference between Sahaja Yoga and
Sahaja Meditation?
The only difference lies with the words and their familiarity within our culture. Yoga, in its essence, refers to a union or connection of the individual to the whole of creation. Meditation is the state of being with which this is
achieved. So as not to confuse this with the physical asana (posture /exercise ) type of yoga, it is referred to as Sahaja Meditation, or Sahaja Yoga Meditation.
